| Detailed Description:
|
| A range of sources indicate that Indigenous students have markedly lower school participation, retention and success rates. It is generally believed that successful completion of secondary school is necessary if young people are to have access to the full range of further education, employment and life chances. The project included a detailed review of the literature on self-identity and consultation with a national sample of Indigenous community members. The report makes a number of important recommendations to improve educational outcomes for Indigenous students.
