  • Navigating the VECO website
  • Making use of the tools associated with the email discussion lists - archives, membership management
  • Using the VECO Gallery to publish case studies and project reports
  • Interacting in the VECOCafe chatroom

There are several ways to navigate the VECO website:

Activity A: Email Discussion List management
Using the key links above:

  1. check your membership of the voced-coord email list and your Special Focus Network.

  1. use the veco-cbl archives of the recent online guest to find out

    - how many individuals contributed to the discussion?

    - who should get the "terrier award" for persisting with an issue?

    - what was the deepest thread and how many messages were in it?

    - of all the postings with the subject "re: welcome to veco-cbl!", how many different threads should have emerged?

    - comment on the apparent purpose and benefits of the C3PO game 

    Reflection: what would make you want to participate in an online guest discussion

Activity B: The VECO Gallery

Remember that there is online Help for the Gallery

  1. Fill in the registration form if you have not already done so
  2. Log on to the Gallery using your username and password
  3. Using the materials you have brought with you, add an item to the Gallery.

OR

  1. Using the materials you have brought with you, add a Sandpit item.

Make sure you try out adding an inline picture, uploading a file and adding an Internet link.

Activity C: VECOCafe Chat

    When using the VECOCafe at home or work, remember that you need a Java enabled browser.

    The VECOCafe hints are useful if this is your first time in the chatroom
