VECO Workshop

1998 VECO
Workshop Program

Outline
As part of the VECO project (Voc Ed Coordinators Online), the ASTF Coordination Support Unit is offering the opportunity for coordinators of workplace learning programs to attend a two day hands on training and Professional Development workshop. This follows the pilot program conducted in 1997 and is aimed at assisting coordinators to increase their skills, share experiences, learn new ways of thinking about online activity, develop ideas and work collaboratively on projects. Through the workshop co-ordinators:

  • develop their skills in using email, mailing lists, world wide web and other telecommunications technologies
  • explore the concept of online community by studying existing models and examples
  • begin to define ways in which online community can benefit them and their programs
  • show leadership by exploring how these and other technologies can be applied to enhance program management and professionalism
  • begin work on a self identified project that makes use of these technologies

Through participation in the workshop and follow up activities coordinators will play a key role in the development of a collaborative online community.

ASTF will sponsor the workshop as a commitment to providing quality support to industry school partnerships.
