Dear "onliners"

Thanks to Lenny Eagles and Gary Stephenson for sharing the stories of how their websites came about and all the valuable hints and tips for new players. Thanks also to those who added their contributions to the discussion.

It gives me great pleasure now to introduce you to Tom March who has been doing a great job working on the VECO website this year particularly in producing activities and converting tutorial materials in a whole new section of the VECO web (see http://www.ash.org.au/pdt/vworkshop/tutorial.stm).

Tom moved to Australia from the USA with his young family this year having spent the past three years as one of three "Fellows" designing Websites and strategies for Pacific Bell Education First from San Diego State University. You may have heard of such things as Blue Web'n, Filamentality and WebQuests (then again you may not have!). They are highly regarded in the education world. I believe he now has more work than he can handle so I am pleased we got in early!

Over the next couple of days Tom has agreed to share some of the tips of the trade in terms of general design principles for those interested in establishing websites for their programs.

Over to you Tom.

Janine
