Richard wears two main hats - one as research coordinator for Dusseldorp Skills Forum and the other as Adjunct Professor in Vocational Education at the University of Technology Sydney. He writes extensively in a research capacity, is on the Council of ACER, is a member of NREC, which funds vocational education research through NCVER, and has worked with the OECD. His current research includes State comparisons of approaches to school-industry programs, employability and a study of early school leavers. As our online guest he will focus on "20 reasons why schools and teachers should get involved in workplace learning programs" and the introduction of VET in Schools at grade 9 and 10 level. He will do this by posting short pieces of writing to the list and inviting questions and debate.
