Education and Training
Patrick Griffin is Professor of Education (Assessment) at The University
of Melbourne's Learning,
Assessment and Special Education Department as well as Director of the
Assessment Research Centre and the ANTA Key Research Centre for Vocational
Assessment Research.
He has
published numerous tests, books and journal articles on assessment and
evaluation topics that include competency, language proficiency,
industrial literacy, school literacy and numeracy, profile development and
portfolio assessment. His work currently focuses on interpretive
frameworks for criterion referenced assessment, literacy and numeracy
assessment and on vocational and work place assessment. In this area, he
has presented invited lectures on assessment matters to international
organisations such as the United Nations and the World Bank. He has also
addressed major professional associations, taught and conducted assessment
research projects in Australia, Hong Kong, France, Ireland, the United
States, Australia, Vietnam, New Zealand, Canada and Britain.
