Our Youth, Our Farms, Our Future

Catherine O'Sullivan

Catherine is Deputy Principal, Goondiwindi State High School in Queensland and has been involved in setting up this exciting program which is one of the rural industry SILO model projects.

The Rural Industry Schools Industry Links Outreach (SILO) Project, is funded by the ASTF through its industry partnership arrangements with the National Farmers' Federation.

Rural industry school to work programs, particularly in rural and remote communities where the industry is predominantly based, face problems associated with distance, seasonality and weather conditions, accessing accredited training, limited teaching resources, lack of employers, and the problems associated with accessing current information.

Gary Clark is the National Coordinator of the Rural industry SILO program and he will introduce Catherine.

Catherine has prepared some background information on the Goondiwindi "Our Youth, Our Farms, Our Future" project and is really looking forward to being a VECO online guest.
