Leah Richards is currently Head of Department - Senior Schooling at Dakabin State High School, which is located on the Northside of Brisbane. Leah is one of two Queensland representatives for the National VETNETWORK Association, and a member of the National Association of Post Compulsory Educators - QLD ( NAPCEQ).
Currently Leah is a member of one of the working parties developing policy and guidelines for the implementation of the adopted principles from Co-ordinating Diversity, and completing her Masters of Education in curriculum studies. Her involvement in schools and with post compulsory students has contributed to her interest in working towards a post compulsory curriculum, which is both relevant to their needs and maximises career opportunities for all students. In her current role she finds herself working with both business and industry and other vocational education providers, helping other departments in the school to understand industry perspectives and raise the profile of vocational education.
