After effects, ill effects, side effects.
29th
July 1998 4.00pm
The Event
This webcast is of an event being held by the
Metropolitan Regional Group of the Australian College of Education at Ryan Hall, Nudgee
College, Brisbane, Queensland on Wednesday July 29 1998 from 4-7pm. The afternoon will be
chaired by Associate Professor Neil Dempster.
The Metropolitan Regional Group of the Australian
College of Education is keen to bring educators together to hear about how recent
developments in Vocational Education and Training are affecting our schools. What are the
realities of Vocational Education and Training in schools - for teachers, for students, at
the system level?
Professor Alan Cumming will speak about Vocational Education and Training from the policy
perspective. Professor Cumming led the Task Force that culminated in the publication of
Coordinating Diversity (1996). Is the reality matching the vision? Practitioners from
schools including a Head of Department, Coordinators, and a classroom teacher will speak
about the impact that Vocation Education and Training is having in their school.
