Subject: Ghosts of guests return!

Good afternoon all!

You may recall that we ambitiously began an online guest session in December on the topic of assessment in VET and that we adjourned the topic to be taken up again from next week.

Our guests are Shelley Gillis and Jack Keating from the Assessment Research Centre who were involved in the ASTF commissioned research last year.

In the early postings, Shelley and Jack asked:
1. How do you ensure the validity and reliability of workplace assessments?
and
2. How does this differ to classroom-based?

Chris Waltrowicz raised the issue of using on the job as a formative rather than summative assessment.

So get your questions and comments ready for next Monday! Perhaps you might act as a conduit for questions and issues from teachers, students and workplace supervisors in your program?
