VECO Online Guests: Shelley Gillis and Jack Keating Assessment in the VET in Schools context Issue of assessment as feedback to student response to guest posting to voced-coord email list Date: Fri, 10 Dec 1999 11:57:23
As I read, I kept thinking 'yes' and 'I wish I'd known enough to write that!' I thought the flow chart with the 'best practice and idealised best practice' was brilliant - it is so obvious (now) about contextualising best practice but I've never seen it set out like that. However, can I introduce an aspect which you didn't set out to cover, but which worries me. In education, assessment is seen as a process which gives us pointers to further teaching practice. What to we do with the students who don't achieve competence, what mechanisms do we have in place to assist the student to reflect on where they need to improve maybe before the end of their placement. cheers Chris Waltrowicz
