Subject: Assessment online guests begin today - a warm welcome!

Good morning

Today we welcome Shelley Gillis from the University of Melbourne and Dr Jack Keating from RMIT University as our final online guests for 1999. Their topic is assessment and is timely and appropriate given their involvement with the research completed recently for the ASTF.

As mentioned yesterday, background information about our guests and the topic are available on the VECO website at

http://www.veco.ash.org.au/guest/assessment/default.asp

In planning this event it was very difficult to find an optimum time so although it is nearing the end of the year we are optimistic that people will use this as a good time to reflect on assessment issues since the process is over for this year for most.

Please make our guests welcome by contributing to the discussion.

Some housekeeping reminders:

1. Remember that the online guest postings will have (guest) as a prefix in the subject line to distinguish the postings from other traffic

2. While it is acceptable for other postings to occur during the online guest session, try to refrain from initiating other discussion topics during this time.
