Introducing Dr Jack Keating...

Dr Jack Keating is Senior Research Associate with the Assessment Research Centre and is also a Senior Lecturer with the Department of Industry, Professional and Adult Education at RMIT University.  Dr Keating has worked in three sectors of education and training (schools, VET and higher education).

He has a detailed knowledge of the VET sector in Australia, and in particular 'new apprenticeships'.  His work in the area of vocational education in upper secondary education is widely acknowledged.  This includes a number of publications and numerous presentations on the topic.  He has recently worked with the Assessment Research Centre on the development of models of assessment for school-industry programs at the upper secondary level.

During this online guest session Jack will address some of the policy issues that have arisen as a result of the VET in Schools research project recently completed by the Australian Student Traineeship Foundation. This will complement the focus on assessment instruments that Shelley Gillis will explore.
