November 23 - 25, 2000 : VETNETwork conference 2000 - A Reason to Learn
The proceedings for this conference are on the conference website and include keynote presentations, case studies and documents from workshop sessions.

November 22, 2000 : Disability Initiative workshop and seminar
This seminar included participants in the three Lighthouse projects funded under the ASTF (now ECEF) disability initiative. The report includes guest and project officer presentations.

August 28-59, 2000 : Special Focus Network Seminar
This seminar included participants in current and recently funded Rural & Remote and Years 9 & 10 ASTF Priority Areas pilots. Stories were shared and the challenges of sustainability explored.

April 2-5, 2000 : International Career Conference (creating links)
The second day of this conference had a VET focus with keynote presentations by Richard Sweet who followed up on earlier work about the "School to Work" jigsaw. The ASTF also presented on the Career Education  Quality Framework in the context of vocational education.

September 10, 1999: Wadu Launch
Wadu - 'together in partnership and trust'. The Wadu strategy is about vocational learning for young Indigenous Australians. This event report includes the inaugural Wadu award.

August 26, 1999: Tumut Skills Auction
This annual event is a celebration of the skill base in a rural community. The Auction highlights the strength of the school-industry partnership as well as being a means of providing funds.

August 26 1999: TasVETA - After dinner speaker: Frank Stoner(UK)
A popular speaker on "An International Perspective on Vocational Education and Training in Schools." You can listen to a recording of the presentation.

May 27-28 1999: Quality VET in Schools Conference
This National invitational conference was hosted by the Victorian Department of Education. It was held concurrently with the National Workskills Challenge in Melbourne. The report features the VECO webcast sessions as well as links to the official conference website.

May 1999:  Rural and Remote Special Focus Network Seminar
Experienced coordinators and others involved in Rural and Remote school-industry programs participated in a two day seminar to establish a National Rural and Remote network which they named RRAVE-On.

April 1999: Indigenous VET in Schools National Network Forum
Taking advantage of the Learning IT Together conference in Brisbane, the ASTF hosted a one day seminar to mark the newly established partnership between ATSIPTAC and the ASTF.

December 1998,Years 9&10 National Network Seminar
This seminar saw a gathering of people from around Australia including some of those involved in the ASTF funded pilot programs for years 9 and 10. The seminar included workshop sessions where the ongoing activity of the network was planned.

November 1998, East Arnhem Land VET Symposium
This symposium brought together schools, communities, employers, training institutions and funding bodies to share information and develop action plans to address the issues of introducing VET into Rural and Remote schools. VECO has developed the report pages so that some of the content and outcomes of the event can reach a wider audience.

July 1997 - Building Workplace Learning Communities
CEAV (Career Education Association of Victoria) conference held in Bendigo, July 16-18, 1997. Some keynote papers are published here with permission and on behalf of CEAV.
