Background
In December 1998, ASTF ran
a seminar for those
involved in the ASTF funded pilots for Years 9 & 10. This seminar
saw the initiation of the ASTF Years 9 & 10 National Network.
The Years 9 & 10 National Network has been established with
membership from schools and other organisations. These members work with
students both within and outside traditional schooling structures.
Purpose
The Years 9 & 10 National Network has been established as a forum
for practitioners working within and outside traditional schooling
structures to:
- Empower, support and encourage exchanges
- Act as a clearinghouse of ideas and initiatives, models and
resources
- Promote good practice that mainstreams Vocational Learning in the
compulsory years of schooling
- Serve as a place to find like-minded people, a buddy, a kindred
spirit, birds of a feather, allies
How to Join
In
The Years 9 & 10 National Network recognises the need to be
inclusive in its communication channels. To this end, you may join the
network in one of two ways: via an online discussion list called
"Reworking 9-10" or by periodical facsimiles called
"Reworking 9-10 Bulletins". The Bulletins represent a summary
of discussions from the online discussion list and any other non
electronic communication with the Network Leader.
To Join the REWORKING9-10 Discussion List:
- If joining by Email, follow the instructions on the Web page for
the Reworking9-10
discussion list.
To Receive Periodic REWORKING9-10 Bulletins via Fax:
Similarly, you can register to receive a periodic fax that summarizes
the online discussion and collates resources.
- If registering by Email, include your name, organisation, fax
number.
Other networking activities and events may occur from time to time.
The Reworking9-10 list and bulletin will promote these as they occur.
